How it works
Identification and valuation run as separate, inspectable stages. If a stage cannot produce a trustworthy result, it stops and tells you why.
1. Capture the card
Upload a front image; add the back when the label or reverse holo pattern matters. Image quality is checked before anything else runs.
2. Read the label and card
Slab labels, certification numbers and printed card text are read separately so a bad label read never silently overrides the card itself.
3. Resolve identity field by field
Set, number, year, language, rarity, edition, finish and variation each carry their own confidence. Ambiguity such as 1 vs 7 is flagged, not smoothed over.
4. Match sold market evidence
Comparables are filtered to the exact card, grader and grade. Excluded evidence stays visible with the reason it was excluded.
5. Review and confirm
You approve the identification. Corrections you make are recorded with a reason and feed the item's activity trail.
When we will not give you a number
- No sold evidence exists for the exact card and variation.
- No comparable sale matches the exact grader and grade.
- Evidence conflicts and cannot be reconciled.
- The valuation service is not connected in this environment.
In each case the item is kept in inventory and marked as unvalued rather than assigned an invented estimate.
